Pastor Kevin Gene Galloway, 50, of La Porte, passed away on Friday, May 24, 2019.
Kevin was born on April 23, 1969 in La Porte, IN, to Gene Galloway and Sheila Galloway.
On January 6, 1990 in Bedford, IN, he married his best friend, Davena Fields, who survives. Also surviving are his beloved children, Zachary Galloway of Chicago, IL, Stephen (Brie) Galloway of Kenosha, WI, and Lindsey Galloway of Bloomington, IN; sister, Lana (Kirt) David; and nephew, Hayden (Hollie) David.
He was preceded in death by his parents and mother-in-law, Linda Fields.
Kevin was the lead pastor at Christ Church in La Porte and Michigan City. He also served the church as a worship pastor for over 10 years.
Along with his leadership in the local church, Kevin coached and helped develop pastoral leaders across the country. He worked with Sojourn Church Planting Network and Acts 29 Church Planting Network. Kevin also founded Vibrant Leadership, through which he coached business leaders. He wrote and published the book, "Leadership Through Relationship".
Before Kevin began his various roles in the church, he was a deputy for the La Porte County Police Department and an Indiana State Trooper.
Kevin was a life-long Chicago Cubs fan. He also enjoyed listening to music, reading, and his beloved dog, Titus. He wrote and recorded Christian music throughout his life.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at the Civic Auditorium of La Porte, 1001 Ridge Road, La Porte, IN. A private burial will take place at Pine Lake Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 8 pm on Friday, May 31, 2019 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 12 noon until the time of the service on Saturday at the Civic Auditorium.
