Aaron Gene Lovvorn, 87, of La Porte, passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at Miller's Merry Manor.
Aaron was born on November 1, 1932 in Russellville, AL, to Ruffin and Lucy (Williams) Lovvorn.
In August 1952 in Delphi, IN, he married Berdina Venters who preceded him in death. Surviving Aaron are his children, Delores Ann (Garry) Adams of La Porte, Faith Marie Gainer of Plymouth, Jackie Lee (Tom) Smith of La Porte, and Vicky Lynn Lovvorn of New Carlisle; 17 grandchildren, Robert (Nora) Jones of California, Ronnie (Karen) Combs of La Porte, Rebecca (David) Wallen of La Porte, Samantha (Jeff) Hurlbut of Mishawaka, Donald (Heather) Adams of La Porte, Gabriel (Leslie) Smith of La Porte, Marianne Rush of Mishawaka, Robert (Lester) Lovvorn, Jr. of Michigan City, Ricky (Ludovic) Dale of Las Vegas,NV, Michael (Jean) Lovvorn of La Porte, Patrick Gainer of California, Caitlin (Kelson) Stone of La Porte, Josh Barger of La Porte, Russell (Beth) Spaid of La Porte, Travis Spaid of New Carlisle, Guy (Danielle) Gainer of Grovertown, and Candice (Mike) Gainer of Donaldson; 15 great-grandchildren, Cordell, Nathan, Tyler, Quinn, Brandon, Drake, Mason, Tucker, Maggie, Logan, Peyton, Brayden, Abigail, Ty, and Aaron; 4 great, great-grandchildren, Callan, Rowen, Stella, and Will;
sister, Christine (Gene) Lawson of Michigan City; daughter-in-law, Debbie Lovvorn of La Porte; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents; sister, Mabel Mohler; brothers, Arvle and Travis Lovvorn; and sons, Robert Dean Lovvorn and Donald Eugene Lovvorn.
Aaron was an over the road tanker truck driver for 36 years, primarily with Refiners Transport. He enjoyed attending church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 6, 2020 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at Rolling Prairie Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 6 p.m. on Sunday, July 5, 2020 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. The family requests that masks be optional.
