Arthur Lee Lenig, 90, of Rolling Prairie, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 2, 2021.
Arthur was born on June 23, 1930 in La Porte, IN, to Daniel Kenneth and Ethel Mae (Fissgus) Lenig.
On June 7, 1953 in Rolling Prairie, IN, he married Rose Marie Mickelson who survives. Also surviving are his children, Steven (Cheryl Wideman) Lenig at New Carlisle, Michael (Kim) Lenig of Lebanon, OH, and Stefanie (Jeremy) Obenchain of New Carlisle; grandchildren, Cori (Jeremy) Bibelhauser, Andrea (Jake) Vercelli, Justin (Jama) Lenig, Bryan (Donielle) Lenig, James Bowen, Garret and Olivia Obenchain; 19 great-grandchildren; sister, Grace Siford of Rolling Prairie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded by his parents and 3 brothers, James, Daniel and Charles Lenig.
Arthur served in the US Navy as a Petty Personnel Officer First Class.
Arthur was an Employment Officer for 21 years at Bethlehem Steel before he retired in 1992. He was a member of the Rolling Prairie Lions Club, Masonic Lodge, American Legion, and Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church.
Arthur enjoyed golf, baseball, singing in quartets and the church choir. He volunteered as a coach for Little League and assisted with the Boys Scouts.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church with Pastor JoEllyn Chadwick officiating. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow at Rolling Prairie Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 5 - 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2021 and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the church.
Memorial donations may be made to Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church, 3444 E. US Hwy 20, Rolling Prairie, IN 46371.
