Artur "Art" Sorg, Jr.

Artur "Art" Sorg, Jr., 66, of Mill Creek, IN, passed away on Friday, May 23, 2025.

He was born on August 21, 1958, in La Porte, IN, to Gerlinde (Heinrich) and Artur Sorg, Sr.

Art is survived by his 2 sons, Artur "A.J." Sorg III of La Porte and Jeffrey (Ashley Reyes) Sorg of Rolling Prairie; 4 grandchildren, Sophie Sorg of La Porte, Shayla Sorg of La Porte, Aidan Reyes of Rolling Prairie, and Austin Sorg of Rolling Prairie; sisters, Gabriele Phillips of La Porte and Sue (Gary) Lawson of Mill Creek; brother, Wolfgang (Sandy) Sorg of Mill Creek; and niece, Wendy Sorg of Indianapolis.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Amanda Sorg.

Art was a machinist for 45 years at Diedrich Drill. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, golfing, and playing pool, darts, and horseshoes. Art greatly enjoyed all backyard activities with his boys, his friends, and his boys' friends. When his sons were young, Art loved being part of his sons' T-ball and Little League teams.

He will be fondly remembered for his selflessness and generosity. Art treated everyone with respect and as family. He would give the shirt off his back and help anyone in need. Art has left a legacy of kindness for his family and community.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A private family celebration of his life and burial at New Carlisle Cemetery will take place at a later date.
