Barbara Lee Nelson, 74, of 102 Cherry Drive, Walkerton, died at 5:45 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2004 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 28 at the Cutler Funeral Home with Clifford Fritz officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date.
Mrs. Nelson was born October 3, 1929, in Medaryville, IN to Lloyd & Reva (Jones) Brick. On April 3, 1948, she married Lindy J. Nelson, who preceded her in death on November 14, 1994.
Survivors include a daughter, Diana (Bill) Foster, LaPorte; sons, John (Carol) Nelson, Plymouth, IN, Mike (Marilyn) Nelson, Culver, IN and Steve (Janice) Nelson, Sr., Bremen, IN; grandchildren, Christina Sterling, Carrie Bechtel, Jenna Meister, Jamie & Lisa Zahrn, Bobbi Reinhold, Angie Fox, Steve Jr., Brad & Timothy Nelson, and Jason, Matt & Ryan Foster; 19 great-grandchildren; sisters, Claudine Taylor, Fish Lake, IN, Carol Fraizer, Monticello, IN, Kay Wireman, Wheatfield, IN, and Linda Filas, Monticello, IN; brother, Lloyd "Butch" Brick; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Faye Sutherlin and a brother, Jack Brick.
She had retired from Howmet (Austenal) after 17½ years as a wax quality control assurance inspector. She enjoyed crafts, sewing, quilting, reading and being with family.
Memorials may be made to LaPorte County Hospice or the American Lung Cancer Association.
