Bonnie Jean Quigley, 77, of La Porte, IN, passed away peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Friday, July 24, 2026.
She was born on May 16, 1949, in Chicago, IL, to Robert and Barbara (Over) Agnew.
On August 8, 1970, in Chicago, IL, she married Daniel J. Quigley who survives. Also surviving are her 4 children, Joseph (Olga) Quigley of Zionsville, Kathleen "Katy" (Tim) Gartland of La Porte, Rosemary "Rose" (James) Lees of Delancey, NY, and Kevin "Buck" (Shelby) Quigley of La Porte; 11 grandchildren, Robert, Sophie, Audrey, Liam, Norah, Natalie, Jillian, Sam, Ellie, Finnegan, Callahan; siblings, Connie (Scott) Ewing, Gwen Miller, Laura (John) McInerney, and John Agnew; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Linda Kleckner.
Bonnie worked in the La Porte County Government in multiple legal roles and retired after 23 years. She worked at Beechwood Golf Course for many years with Bill Murray.
She enjoyed directing shows and making costumes for The La Porte Little Theatre. Bonnie served as President for years and was recently recognized as a LTC Board Emeritas. She helped many children in our community find a love for the arts.
Bonnie played in the bell choir for the Methodist Church, delivered for Meals on Wheels, sang in local nursing homes, and volunteered for the La Porte County Symphony and the Dunebrook Dragon Boat Races. She had beautiful calligraphy skills and made wedding invitations for many new couples. Bonnie was also an accomplished cook and extraordinary hostess.
She has enjoyed her retirement on the farm with Dan and their many friends and family, who visit often. Bonnie will be fondly remembered for her deep love for family, dear friends, and the La Porte Little Theatre community.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2026, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Kyle Chezem officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. At a later date, a private inurnment will take place at Door Village Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the La Porte Little Theatre Club, 218 A St., La Porte, IN 46350 or to Dan Quigley, for the creation of the Bonnie Quigley Memorial Scholarship Fund, 2900 Monroe St., La Porte, IN 46350.
