Carolyn Ann Hunt, 74, of La Porte, passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at her home, where she was lovingly cared for by her sister.

Carolyn was born on April 28, 1946 in La Porte, IN, to Kenneth Allen and Bernice Caroline (Theis) Hunt.

Surviving are her twin sister, Marolyn Klockow of La Porte, and many cousins.

She was preceded by her parents.

Five weeks after her birth, Carolyn made her first visit to Oak Grove Cemetery, where her father was President until his death in 1977.  Carolyn became the Vice President of Oak Grove Cemetery in December 1977, handling the selling of graves, representing the Board during funerals, and planning Memorial Day luncheons.  She still held that position until her passing.

Carolyn worked in small loan accounting at Associated Finance Company, South Bend, from 1966 to 1976.  She then began working at Howmet Corporation, La Porte, where she checked accounts payable and authorized million dollar payments, until April, 2003.

Carolyn enjoyed reading, reading every page of 2 newspapers daily.  She was a season ticket holder for Notre Dame women's basketball.  In addition to Notre Dame women's basketball, she enjoyed watching all sports on tv.  She was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church.

She was a proud charter member of the Mill Creek Community Lions Club. Carolyn held various officer's positions during the club's 16 years of community service.

Carolyn was the recipient of the Lions W. P. Woods Fellowship from the Indiana Lions Foundation and the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award from Lions International.  Carolyn faithfully served as the secretary and a board member of the La Porte County Farm Bureau, Inc. for 25 years.  She was initiated to the Rolling Prairie Order of Eastern Star on June 10, 1974, holding the office of secretary from 1985-2004, when Rolling Prairie closed.  Carolyn is a present member of the Order of the Eastern Star, LaPorte Chapter 280 OES, the Gleaners Life Insurance-Rolling Prairie Arbor, where she holds the office of reporter, and the Purdue Extension Homemakers-Kitchen Kin Club.

A private Celebration of Life Service will be held, at a later date, with Pastor Josh Carney officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.
