Charles Paul Hanna

Charles Paul Hanna, 87, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at Northwest Health-La Porte. 

Charles was born in Ohio on February 8, 1938, to Floyd and Bernice (Todd) Hanna. 

On June 20, 1959, at First Baptist Church in La Porte, Indiana, he married Phyllis Jones who survives. Also surviving are his children, Pam Gray, Michael (Juanita) Hanna and Patti Brenda, all of La Porte; 8 grandchildren, Dan (Shauna) Bealor, C.J. (Stephani) Bealor, Aaron (Suzanne) Hanna, Adam Hanna, Ashley (Chase) Rinker, Aimee (Matt) Walker, Austen Hanna, and Hanna Johnson; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Gary Hanna; sister, Sandra (Terry) Smith; as well as 13 nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert and Brian Hanna; sons-in-law, Steve Gray and Rob Brenda; and 3 nieces.

Charles graduated from Mill Creek High School where he enjoyed sports. He worked as an Assembler at Kingsley Furniture for 39 years and for Kabelin Ace Hardware for 21 years. Charles was known as a workaholic. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. Charles enjoyed fishing with Pastor Ron Davenport. 

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Mill Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Josh Carney officiating. 

A time of visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church. A private inurnment will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date.
