Claudia Jean (Tackett) Manley

Claudia Jean (Tackett) Manley, 78, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Sunday, September 20, 2026 at her daughter's home.

Claudia was born on April 24, 1948, in Mount Vernon, IN, to Robert Lee and Ora Lindell (Brock) Mosley.

Surviving are her daughters, Cheryl (Mike) Baietto of Michigan City, Traci (Kerry) McColly of La Porte; grandchildren, Ian (Tori) Pearson of Valparaiso, Seth Pearson of La Porte, step-granddaughter, Michelle (Josh) Richmond of Wheatfield; step-grandsons, Dan (Kelli) Baietto of Washington and Josh and Justin McColly; great-grandchildren, Rowan and Juniper Pearson of Valparaiso; sisters, Vicki (Bruce Moison) Dobkins and Ann Hoyle, all of Michigan City; brother, Ken (Ginny) Mosley of La Porte; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and her precious dog, Beau, whom she adored.

She was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband, friend and father of her children, Charles Tackett; husband, William Manley; sisters, Judith Ann Mosley, Ora Lee Atwood, and Patricia Crane; brothers, Tom and Claude Mosley; and her best friends, Betty Ashmore and Darlene Tillema.

Claudia worked at several factories notably Stor-Rite Metal Products in Michigan City. She also worked in receiving at Lowe's Home Improvement Center.

Claudia loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed playing canasta, dancing, and listening to country music. Claudia had a passion for cleaning, organizing and decorating. She liked fishing and traveling with family.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Samuel Shaver officiating.

A time of visitation will be held from 12 pm until the time of service on Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital-Memorial Processing, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38106-9959.
