Cody Ann Corneil

Cody Ann Corneil, 41, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at Northwest Health La Porte.

Cody was born on November 25, 1984, in Denver, CO, to Karl W. and Jackie R. (Horn) Freeman.

On June 13, 2015, in Valparaiso, IN, she married Jayme Corneil, whom she married after 10 years together. Surviving Cody are her beloved husband, Jayme; 3 treasured children, Gavin Freeman of La Porte, Sierra (Alex) Freeman of Union Mills, and Noah Corneil of La Porte; father, Karl Freeman of La Porte; sisters, Christon (Kevin) Conley and Chloe (Alex) Bryan; brothers, Jaime (Kim) Conley and Nolan Norton; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jackie, and her beloved dog, Bella.

Cody was a special education para-professional at Critchfield Elementary, where she enjoyed working with her students. She loved concerts, camping, and being outside. Most importantly, Cody treasured her family and the time that she spent with them. Her husband and three children meant the world to her.

She will be dearly missed not only by her family, but also by the students she had the joy of working alongside.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor John Haferkamp officiating. Burial will follow at Hanna Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of memorial donations, the family requests that you hug your family and friends a little bit longer and enjoy the time you have together.
