Cynthia "Cindy" Jean (Karaff) Waelbroeck

Cynthia "Cindy" Jean Waelbroeck, 63, of La Porte, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2022 at Northwest Health - La Porte.

Cindy was born in La Porte, IN, on November 11, 1958 to William Eugene and Joann Dorothy (Burruss) Karaff.

On September 24, 1988, she married William "Bill" Waelbroeck, who survives.  Also surviving are her son, Ryan C. Karaff-Waelbroeck of Morrisville, NC; stepsons, Christopher (Pat) Waelbroeck of Port Pierce, FL and Mitchell Waelbroeck of Maricopa, AZ; grandson, Addison Waelbroeck of Maricopa, AZ; sisters, Barbara Jo (Stewart) Qualls, Debra Ann (Stephen Pepple) Karaff, Dyana Lynn Karaff, and Susan Christine (Kipp) Bell, all of La Porte; nephews, Austin Adams and Cade Hendrickson; and nieces, Ashlyn Hendrickson and Jillian Bell.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Cindy was a Membership Director for 18 years at the YMCA.  She later worked for 5 years at Four Winds.  Cindy enjoyed wine tasting, boating, and swimming.  Her greatest joy was her family and her 78 giraffes.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 18, 2022,  at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.

A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
