Darrell Alan Kaiser, 75, of Union Mills, IN, passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Ernestine M. Raclin Hospice House, with family by his side.
He was born on September 19, 1950, in Gary, IN, to Roland and Alyce (Fieler) Kaiser.
On September 11, 1976, in La Porte, IN, he married Susan Ann Miller, who survives. Also surviving are his 3 sons, Brett (Tina) Kaiser of Hamilton, MI, Scott (Michelle) Kaiser of La Porte, and Kevin (Stephanie) Kaiser of La Porte; grandchildren, Garrett, Mia, Meg, and Wesley Kaiser; sister, Diane Michaels of Valparaiso; brother, Phillip (Pat) Kaiser of Westville; sisters-in-law, Cindy Kaiser of Wanatah and Marilyn Kaiser of OH; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Larry and David Kaiser.
Darrell was the owner and operator, along with his son, Scott, of Kaiser Floor Service from 1980 - 2017. He was a hard worker and a true craftsman, always working in the garage tinkering and trying to modify things to be more efficient. Darrell was independent and liked to do things his own way.
A humble and committed man, Darrell had a deep love for his family. He never shied away from expressing his appreciation and love not only for his family, but also those he cared about. Darrell was sentimental at heart. He valued the comfort and gatherings of his home. Darrell had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to share. Through his selflessness, Darrell's family has been gifted a loving legacy.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Sam Polito officiating. Burial will follow at Union Mills Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Door Village United Methodist Church, 3502 Joliet Rd., La Porte, IN 46350.
