Darryl Wade Bunch, known affectionately as DB, was a man of great intelligence, boundless adventure, and keen analysis. Born on the third of November in the year 1958, in LaPorte, Indiana to Violet & Hoy Bunch, he embarked on a journey that would span the course of his life until the second of May, 2023, when he took his final bow in Kingsford Heights, Indiana. The cause of his departure remains a mystery, much like the man himself.
Darryl's family, survives him and continues to weave the threads of his memory. His sister, Joan Fugate, resides in Richlands, Virginia, while his brother Gary Bunch lives in Michigan City, Indiana. His sister Sheila Garcia calls Houston, Texas, her home. DB's nieces, Miranda Polite, Vonda Stone, and Lori Jessie, and his nephew, Josh Klement, carry on his legacy with pride and honor. Alas, Darryl was preceded in death by his older brother, Mikey; his father, Hoy; his mother, Violet; his sister, Debbie, also known as Lavender Violet Gardener; his brother-in-law, Bud Fugate; and his nephew, David Fugate. Their spirits, no doubt, welcomed him with open arms as he crossed the threshold into the great beyond.
DB's life was a grand adventure, filled with the exploration of our beautiful land and the depths of his own soul. His passions led him to traverse the country, leaving no stone unturned in his quest for knowledge and experience. He hiked through the forests, kayaked upon the rivers, and delved into the mysteries of the Earth. His love for music, especially classic rock served as the soundtrack to his journey, the melodies and harmonies echoing through the ages as he played the bass guitar with the fervor of a true rocker.
In the style of the great William Shakespeare, let us now pay tribute to the man who was Darryl:
To the world, he was a traveler bold,
A seeker of truth, a story untold.
From LaPorte's embrace to Kingsford's shore,
He ventured far, forever craving more.
In the company of family, love did bloom,
A tapestry woven, unbroken by gloom.
Sister and brother, niece and nephew,
Together they stood, a bond strong and true.
Adventure called, and Darryl did heed,
With boots on his feet and a heart full of need.
He scaled the mountains, he paddled the streams,
He explored the world, and he followed his dreams.
With bass guitar in hand, he strummed and he played,
The soundtrack of life, a melody unswayed.
Classic rock's embrace, a muse to his soul,
He danced to the rhythm, a man uncontrolled.
Intelligent, adventurous, analytical, and wise,
DB's spirit soared, unbound by the skies.
A mystery in life, a mystery in death,
His memory lives on, with every breath.
Farewell, dear DB, your journey complete,
May you find peace and rest in your eternal retreat.
Your legacy lives on, in the hearts that you've touched,
Darryl Wade Bunch, you shall be missed very much.
And so, we bid adieu to Darryl Wade Bunch, a man who lived life to the fullest and left an indelible mark upon the hearts of those who knew him. May his memory serve as a beacon of inspiration, a reminder to embrace the adventures that life has to offer, and to cherish the bonds of family and friendship. Rest in peace, dear Darryl, and may the music of your life continue to play on in the hearts of those who loved you.
