Dennie Ray Fugate

Dennie Ray Fugate, 75, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Dennie was born on May 25, 1951, in Ary, KY, to Dewitt Fugate and Dora Ritchie.

On May 29, 1976, in La Porte, IN, he married Glenda "Lee" Downs who survives. Also surviving are his son, Clinton Fugate of La Porte; daughter-in-law, Darla Tylisz of La Porte; brother, Richard Downs; 3 sisters-in-law, Gerri Huston, Gayle Losey, and Gean Pearson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Dennie worked as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed motorcycle rides, bird watching, tractors, tending to his chickens, and buying old cars. Most importantly, Dennie loved spending time with his family.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at La Porte Assembly of God with Pastor Jeff Hines officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.
