Donna Lou Johnson

Donna Lou Johnson, 83, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Northwest Health La Porte.

She was born to Green and Ocie (Bailey) Risner on January 20, 1942, in Rensselaer, IN. Donna grew up in Newland, IN and graduated from Wheatfield High School in 1960. She later moved to La Porte, where she met her husband, John Johnson. Donna and John married on January 12, 1963, and started their family, having 2 sons, Steve and Gary Johnson, both of La Porte.

Donna was very hard working, starting as a young child, when she worked in the mint and muck fields, to later working in various factories and finally retiring from NIPSCO. After retirement, Donna was able to enjoy time in the Villages, FL.

She leaves behind her son, Gary; 4 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother; 1 sister; and several nieces and nephews.

Donna will be fondly remembered for her selfless nature. She always put others' needs before her own.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. Inurnment at Kingsbury Cemetery will take place at a later date.
