Donna Marie Tremblay

Donna Marie Tremblay, 96, passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Hamilton Communities in New Carlisle.

Donna was born on July 24, 1928 in Chicago, IL to John and Florence (Smithers) Robinson.

On February 16, 1952 in Chicago, IL, she married Robert George Tremblay, beloved husband of 72 years, who survives. Also surviving are her 4 children, Terry Tremblay of Lake Zurich, IL, David Tremblay of Lake Zurich, IL, Thomas Tremblay of Rolling Prairie, IN, and Christine Petrozz of Rolling Prairie, IN; grandchildren, Kyle Tremblay of Lake Zurich, IL and Dinae Petrunic of Lake Zurich, IL; 2 great-granddaughters, Alina and Liana Petrunic; sister, Carole Seggerman of Houston, TX; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Robert A. Tremblay.

According to her grade school autobiography, Donna's first words, at nine months old, were "ice cream". As a child she lived in the "country" for a short time at High Lake, Illinois. In school, she never flunked a grade and her favorite subject was art. As an adult, she created many wonderful works of art and hosted a neighborhood ladies art group. After junior college, she attended Augustana School of Nursing, on her way to becoming a registered nurse. Most of her adult professional career was in psychiatric nursing. She became a "student older than average" when she enrolled at The University of Texas, Dallas, graduating at age 61 with a degree in psychology.

Her other lifetime career was as a wonderful mother to five children and grandmother.

Later in life, Donna was a snowbird, spending time between Indiana and Florida while pursuing her lifetime passion for collecting antiques.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A private family service will take place at a later date.
