Dorothy Evelyn Adkins

Dorothy Evelyn Adkins, 82, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Millers Merry Manor-New Carlisle.

Dorothy was born on July 26, 1942, in Michigan City, IN, to Earl and Dorothy (Yanke) Windle.

Surviving Dorothy are her 2 children, Tammera Shirhall and William Adkins, both of La Porte; 2 grandsons, Jacob (Esmer) Frankinburger of TX and Jonathon Adkins of York, PA; 2 sisters, Shirley (Don) Horner of TX and Dawn (Thomas) Czyzewski of OH; 1 brother, Dennis (Sharon) Windle of MI; sister-in-law, Pattie Staples of La Porte; brother-in-law, Danny Adkins of La Porte; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Robert Adkins.

Dorothy was a seamstress for 34 years at Jaymar-Ruby. She enjoyed cooking and knitting.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
