Dorothy Sitze, 92, of Settlers House in LaPorte and formerly of 1006 Greenway, died at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at her home.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. Doug Hadley officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery.
Dorothy was born July 11, 1913, in Bessville, Missouri to the late Homer & Mary Iva (Eppes) Johnson. On May 9, 1943, in Petersburg, Pennsylvania, she married Edwin L. Sitze, who preceded her in death October 27, 1997.
She is survived by a cousin, Rachel Draley of Rockville, MD and special care-givers and friends Gale & Phyllis Schneider of LaPorte.
A brother, Walter Eppes Johnson preceded her in death.
Dorothy had worked for Bastain-Morley and had retired from the LaPorte Community School System. She was a life member of the VFW Post #1130 Auxiliary.
Memorials may be made to the Settlers House Activity Fund or to Harbor Light Hospice.
