Duane Richard Wallace, 89, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, December 25, 2021.

Duane was born in Hillsdale, MI, on October 8, 1932 to Bernal Bacon and Agnes Bertha (Black) Wallace.

On July 3, 2011 in La Porte, IN, he married Marilyn Fedorchak who survives.  Also surviving are his children, Tanya Wallace of Davenport, FL, and Steve Wallace of Vicksburg, MI; stepchildren, Tim (Angie) Michael of Horse Cave, KY, Cheryl Leipzig of Kalamazoo, MI, Dov (Cindy) Rosenberg of Longwood, FL, Honna (Mike) Kozik of Valparaiso, and Janet (Bob) Garia of Lorain, OH; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Karen Landis of Toledo, OH, and Sheila (Mike) Kovalchik of Traverse City, MI; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; late wife, Joyce Wallace; and sister, Kathleen Masters.

Duane was an Army veteran.  He worked in Information Technology for James River Paper Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan for 30 years.  Duane was a leader for Alzheimer Support Groups.  He enjoyed singing in choral groups, bowling and horseshoes.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 1:30 pm on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center in La Porte.

Burial will take place at a later date at Fort Custer National Cemetery, 15501 Dickman Road, Augusta, MI  49012.
