Edward was the son of the late Edward & Nora (McBride) Brettin, Sr.
He was married on November 5, 1949 to Rosalie Rademacher who survives.
Edward was a self employed contractor and home builder, retiring 5 years ago. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where he served as President, Elder, Trustee, and Usher. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, and attended Purdue University for 1 1/2 years where he studied Mechanical Engineering.
