Heather McNeill Beck, 89, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Trustwell Living at Settlers Place.
Heather was born on May 29, 1936, in Chicago, IL, to James and Gertrude (Richter) McNeill. On August 20, 1960, in Hebron, IN, she married Jack L. Beck, who preceded her in death. Surviving Heather are her 3 children, Cynthia (Kenneth) Moe of Westfield; Kevin (Amy) Beck of Hastings, MI, and Doug (Melissa) Beck of La Porte; 9 grandchildren, Emily (Gautam Bhayani) Moe, Erin Moe, Ethan Moe, Ian (Stephanie) Beck, Peter (Maddie) Beck, Kirby Beck, Sarah Beck, Tom Beck, and Anna Beck; great- granddaughter, Indiana Joy Beck; daughter-in-law, Mindy Beck; sister, Jean Bernard; brother, Bruce McNeill;as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Craig D. Beck; and sister, Carol Hartz.
Heather was a home economics teacher at Kesling Jr. High for over 30 years. She was a faithful, lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church, growing up in The Rangeline Presbyterian Church in Hebron, IN and as an adult, The Presbyterian Church of La Porte.
She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, sewing, and watching Purdue basketball. Heather also enjoyed traveling within the US and well as internationally. Most importantly, Heather loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at The Presbyterian Church of La Porte with Rev. Jane Anabe officiating. Inurnment will follow the service.
A time of visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the LaPorte Educational Development Foundation, 1000 Harrison St., LaPorte, IN 46350.
