James "Zeke" Vosmeier

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James "Zeke" Zekiel Vosmeier. Zeke left this life on July 28, 2024, in Valparaiso, Indiana. He was 35.

Zeke entered this world to Selma Anne Esarey and Ned Clifford Vosmeier on February 2, 1989, in grand fashion, as only he could. In the words of his best friend, Tucker, "That man could really make an entrance."

Surviving are his parents; two sisters, Lacey (Jeff) Lane of Vincennes and Tori (Jason) Weiss of Mill Creek; his niece, Siah Price of Vincennes; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, many dear friends and his beloved dog, Karma.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, James and Lillian Esarey as well as Bud and Monabelle Vosmeier.

Zeke graduated from Lincoln High school and the University of Evansville. While in college he was a member of Sigma Pi Epsilon and gained an internship with Wal-Mart. He has been with the Wal-Mart corporation ever since. At his passing he was the store manager for the Valparaiso location, which had been a goal of his for several years. He had an immaculate work ethic.

He was the biggest fan of Dave Matthews and recently enjoyed learning the game of golf with his best friend, Tucker. He also had a love for his jeeps and teaching himself how to work on them. Zeke enjoyed playing the trumpet in jazz band and with the Pride of the Green marching band. More recently he found great enjoyment taking adventures with his dog, Karma, who was one of his best friends. He also loved to travel with his greatest friends.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. His family is planning a celebration of life at a later date.

The family requests no flowers, however memorial contributions may be directed to Porter County Animal Shelter, 3395 Bertholet Blvd Valparaiso, IN 46383, in Zekes name.
