Jeff was the owner of Ye Olde Pipe Shoppe for 45 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist of La Porte, the VFW, and various other clubs and organizations. Jeff enjoyed story telling, pulling pranks, and showcasing his humor. He was always up for a game of Spoons or Old Maid to play with the grandchildren.

To meet Jeff Dunk was to love Jeff Dunk. He was a man equally comfortable in a tavern or a church, but especially a tavern. He was often found at bar stool number one at his favorite local tavern. His kindness, generosity and good-natured personality won him more friends than he could count. To know him was to love him. As is on his tombstone, "Fun to be an American, fun to be a La Portean, fun is good!".

Jeff was notorious for purchasing everyone lottery tickets, from strangers to closest friends, in hopes of turning them into millionaires!

Jeff proudly served in the United States Army and was very patriotic.
