Jerry D. Anglemyer, 77, of Cassopolis, MI passed away Sunday, January 18, 2026 at home. He was born on October 22, 1948 to Eugene and Frances (Eaglebarger) Anglemyer in Elkhart, IN.
Jerry will be greatly missed by his children, Craig (Margie) King, Duane (Stacy) King, Aleisha Gratzol, Chaad (Shay) Anglemyer, Jerame (Tierah) Anglemyer, Alex (Britney) Anglemyer; grandchildren, Laura, Blossom, Christian, Donald Jr., Breanna, Clowie, Samuel, Mildred, Gabrianna, Abigail, Angel, Rodney, Chaad Jr., Michael, Trinity, Emmalee, Adrian, Owen, Ryler, Zoe, Alexavier, Aidin; and four siblings, Donald (Ruth) Anglemyer, Tom (Marcia) Anglemyer, Dennis (Barb Baker) Anglemyer, and Kathy Blankenship.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Don and Jerry Jr. and two daughters, Angel and Mindy; an infant sister, Jeanie; two brothers, Victor and Robert Dean; and three sisters, Frances, Carol, and Judy.
Jerry loved being outdoors and felt most at peace when he was fishing, hunting, or simply enjoying nature. Some of his happiest moments were spent teaching his children—whether that meant showing them how to work on cars in the driveway or sharing his love of the outdoors with them. He had a patient way of explaining things and took pride in passing along what he knew. Jerry also honorably served in the U.S. Army as a sharpshooter, stationed in Germany.
What defined him most, though, was his kindness. He had an uncanny ability to sense when someone was struggling and never hesitated to step in. He would give the shirt off his back without a second thought, always putting others first—even if it meant going without himself. His willingness to help, no matter the circumstance, left a lasting mark on his family and everyone who knew him.
A celebration of life in honor of Jerry will be held and announced at a later date.
