Joan Armantrout, 78, of LaPorte, Indiana, died at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2006 at LaPorte Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, at the Jehovah's Witnesses LaPorte Kingdom Hall. There will be no visitation.
Joan was born on December 2, 1927, in LaPorte to the late Irving & Norma (Downing) Fontanna. On September 11, 1948, she married Earlin W. Armantrout, who preceded her in death.
Surviving are daughters Melody (Val) Asay of Fort Wayne, IN, Kathleen (Gary) Paulette of LaPorte, and Rebecca (Paul) Grabarak of LaPorte; sons Jerry (Chris) Armantrout of Racine, WI and Eric (Laura) Armantrout of Franksville, WI; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Brothers Clifford and James Fontanna preceded her in death.
She had retired from K-Mart in 1998 and she was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Joan was a warm, loving and beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
