Joan Elizabeth Young

Joan Elizabeth Young, 79, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Rittenhouse Village in Michigan City.

Joan was born on February 15, 1942 in Hammond, IN, to John and Helen (Johnson) Larson.

On September 26, 1963 in Hammond, IN, she married Mark J. Young who survives.  Also surviving are her 2 sons, Bill (Michelle) Young of Trail Creek and Dan (Carol) Young of La Porte; 3 grandchildren; and 1great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Joan was a housewife and an aerobics instructor at the La Porte YMCA.  She loved to run and participated in triathlons and mini-marathons.  Joan and Mark enjoyed riding their bikes to Lake Michigan every week when the season permitted.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.  A private family service will take place at a later date.
