John Joseph Conway, III

It is with a heavy heart that we mourn the loss of John Joseph Conway III on August 9, 2022. He was born November 22, 1950, in La Porte, Indiana.

John was preceded in death by his father, John Conway II. He is survived by his mother, Charlotte (Clark) Conway.

John was a life-long resident of La Porte, Indiana and attended La Porte High School. He was employed by Dwyer Instruments from 1995 until his retirement.

John proudly served in the United States Army from 1970-1973. He attended Cryptological Equipment School, then served with NATO at SHAPE headquarters in Belgium. John received a National Defense Service Medal and was an M16 Sharpshooter. He received a medal for Good Conduct and was discharged honorably.

John was a quiet gentleman. He was an avid reader, owning many books, and enjoyed viewing movies.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Brickyard Healthcare-Terrace Care Center, La Porte with Pastor Jeff Zigler officiating.  At a later date, inurnment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
