Joseph Defanski, Jr., 97, of Michigan City passed away on Friday, August 23, 2024, at his home.
Joseph was born on October 5, 1926, in Chicago, IL, to Joseph and Mary (Polak) Defanski.
Surviving Joseph are his friends, David (Michele) Spence of Walkerton, Sarah Gould of La Porte, Leo Spence of Walkerton, Shirley Butiste of La Porte, and Dr. Liz (Tony) Rassel of La Porte.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, John Defanski.
Joseph served in the United States Army during WWII. Later, he was an electrician for Pullman Railroad.
Joseph will be fondly remembered for always helping a friend in need. He enjoyed studying the Bible and sharing the knowledge he gleaned from his studies. Joseph was a very educated man.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A private burial will take place at Greenwood Cemetery in Michigan City.
