Kay Borg

Kay Marie Borg, 72, of La Porte, IN, passed away at her home on Feb. 21, 2025. She was born to her father, Kenneth Zieske, and her mother, Barbara Zieske, on Oct. 5, 1952. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and younger brother, Jim Zieske. She is survived by her husband, Bernard "Butch" Borg; her son, Stephen Borg; her daughter, Kristen (Sean) Vorhees; two grandchildren, Corinne and Kieran Vorhees; and her sister, Jane (George) Isaacs.

Kay was a graduate of Elston High School in Michigan City, IN, and attended college at Indiana State University, where she received a B.S. degree in Psychology. She was employed by the La Porte County Welfare Dept., where she worked as a child welfare supervisor and later as Assistant Director.

I am her husband, Bernard. She was my wife, best friend and companion for fifty years. Losing her companionship will be hard to bear. She loved going on road trip vacations with me and I took her to many different places. I will miss our conversations, her gentle touch, and fixing her breakfast on Sunday mornings. We have many good friends and they will miss her as well. She never had a bad word to say for anyone and no one ever had a bad word for her.

You are gone now Kay, but I will never have to say goodbye because you will always live on in my memories and my heart. Even though you are no longer here, I will still say "I love you" every night. -Your loving husband, Butch
