Keith Carlin Whorwell

Keith Carlin Whorwell, 92, of LaPorte, passed away on September 6, 2026.

Keith was born on September 1, 1934, in La Porte, IN, to Henry L. and Katherine A. (Lakin) Whorwell.

On October 27, 1979, he married Doreen Bergman, who proceeded him in death on June 16, 2016.

Keith is survived by his sister, Linda L. Garay; brother, Dennis R. (LuAnn) Whorwell; and several nieces and nephews.

He was proceeded in death by his son, Keith C. Whorwell Jr.; daughter, Terri Lynn; infant son, Kent; and brother-in-law, Emil Garay.

Keith served in the US Navy during the Korean War, 1952-1956, as a Hospital Corpsman on the aircraft carrier, U.S.S. Sicily. After he returned from his deployment from Korea, he continued to serve as a Corpsman at the US Navy Hospital in Bremerton, WA. He was very passionate about his service as a medic for the Navy.

After his time serving our country, Keith worked for many years for Tibma Bakery. He also owned a convenience liquor store along with his wife Doreen, in Benton Harbor, MI. In his later life, he was a driver for LaPorte Transport.

Keith was an avid bowler and golfer for many years. As his health declined, Keith resided at Trustwell Living at Settlers Place, LaPorte, IN., where he received compassionate and loving care from all the staff. At Settlers Place, he had a special camaraderie with nurse, Chris, US Army Sargeant First Class (RET.), who served as a nurse with the US Army.

During Keith's final days, Paradigm Health Hospice was a blessing to him and his family with the speical care the nurses provided.

Arrangements are being made with Cutler Funeral Home, La Porte, IN. No public services or visitation will be held. A private family burial will take place at Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, IN.
