Maria Virginia Calderon

Maria Virginia Calderon, 77, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Memorial Hospital of South Bend.

Maria was born on November 12, 1948, in Zacatecas, Mexico to Jose Angel Gutierrez and Maria Auxilio Rodriguez.

Maria married Eugene Calderon who preceded her in death. Surviving are her 4 children, Isai J. (Victoria) Calderon, Nydia (Marco) Calderon, Sandra Calderon, and Evelyn Calderon, all of La Porte; grandchildren, Nate Torrez, Morelia Brianna Calderon, Samantha Calderon, and Carlos Calderon; great-grandchildren, Khamylleh Plascencia and Kayden Plascencia; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Maria worked as a massage therapist. She was a member of the Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses and enjoyed helping others learn the precious truth found in God's Word, the Bible, the very hope she cherished of living forever on a restored paradise earth by means of God's Kingdom. Maria loved helping others draw close to our loving God, Jehovah.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
