Marvin "Marv" Allen Thomae

Marvin "Marv" Allen Thomae, 86, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 12, 2026.

Marvin was born on April 4, 1940, in Gary, IN, to Bert and Annabel (Inscho) Thomae.

On August 3, 1963, in Library, PA, he married Helen Grace Smith who survives. Also surviving are his children, Todd Thomae of La Porte, Scott Thomae of Trap Hill, NC, Kristyn Schauer of Ft. Collins, CO; 2 sisters, Carol Hicks of Phoenix, AZ and Joyce Kirk of Roswell, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Marv was a veteran in the US Army. For 56 years he was an agent for State Farm Insurance because he enjoyed serving people. He was a member of Liberty Bible Church in La Porte. Marv loved his family and his Savior.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 2 p.m. at Liberty Bible Church, La Porte.
