Mary Ann Worthington

Mary Ann Worthington, 88, of La Porte, IN, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, September 5, 2026.

Mary was born on June 3, 1938, in La Porte, IN, to William and Christine (Baker) Lindwall.

On June 6, 1959, in La Porte, IN, she married Jerrold Dean Worthington who preceded her in death on March 13, 2020. Surviving are her children, Christine (Robert) Duttlinger of La Porte, Judy Worthington of New Carlisle, John (Sarah) Worthington of North Liberty, and Jerry Worthington of La Porte; 6 grandchildren, John (Melissa) Duttlinger, William (Amber) Duttlinger, Angela Duttlinger, Janet (Shawn) Campbell, Mary Clemans, and Bethany (Nathan) Randhan; 12 great-grandchildren, Jacob, Matthew, Ryleigh, Chase, Katelyn, Emily, Raeghan, Avery, Kinley, Theo, Bronson, and Wyatt; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sisters, Helen Rathburn and Betty Lenig.

Mary worked as an assistant in the La Porte Community Schools before her retirement.

She was a member of The La Porte Presbyterian Church, Rose Becca Lodge and the Kitchen Kin Home Extension Club. Mary spent many years as a 4-H leader, instructing, mentoring and encouraging youth.

Mary enjoyed bowling, cross-stitching, baking, baby-sitting, and sewing. She also enjoying participating and creating friendships within her card club.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A private family graveside service will take place at Oak Grove Cemetery.
