Michael R."Me-Thinks" Walt, Sr., 91 years old of Westville, IN, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012 at IU Health LaPorte Hospital.
He was born March 1, 1921 in Fort Wayne, IN, son of the late Michael W. and K. Margarita (Miller) Walt.
Michael was married on April 3, 1948 in LaPorte, IN.
to Josephine B. Casto who preceded him in death in 1989. He then was married on May 2, 1997 in Michigan City to Marilyn Lawrence who survives.
Michael retired after 42 years from the Coca Cola Company. He was a US Veteran of WWII, past commander and life member of the LaPorte VFW and the American Legion of Westville
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Walt; three children, Barbara Ladewski of LaPorte, Beverly (Nathan) Perry of Fish Lake, Michael Walt, Jr. of LaPorte; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren; brothers, James (Sara)Walt of Craig, CO., Thomas Walt of Anacenda, MT; step-daughters, Denise Duschek of Stillwell and Julie Williams of Plymouth, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Josephine Walt; 2 sisters; and 1 brother.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 30, 2012 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Interment will follow in the Kingsbury Cemetery.
A time of visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
