WALKERTON - Mr. George F. LaTour, 91, of Miller's Merry Manor, Walkerton, and formerly of Rolling Prairie, died at 7:35 a.m. Thursday (July 10, 2003).
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Cutler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from noon until the service Saturday.
Mr. LaTour was born May 9, 1912, in Glenwood, Ill., to Alexander Peter Joseph and Lucy Elizabeth (Higbie) LaTour. On Dec. 29, 1939, in Hammond, he married LaVerne Arny, who preceded him in death Dec. 8, 1996.
He is survived by one son, Larry G. (Stella Ruth Alix-LaTour) LaTour, Michigan City; one grandson; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Benjamin LaTour, Chicago Heights, Ill.; and one sister, Henrietta Weires, Highland, Ind.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, two sisters and one great-granddaughter.
Mr. LaTour was a machine operator at Allis Chalmers, a body man at Fruehauf Trailer and had also owned a bakery with his son. He was a member of First Christian Church, North Liberty, Ind., which he joined in 1953.
