Mr. Orba Richard Jenkins Jr

October 11, 1929 — March 21, 2003

Mr. Orba Richard Jenkins Jr., 73 of 502 Highland Ave., Michigan City, died Friday, March 21, 2003, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Anthony Memorial Health Centers.

He was born Oct. 11, 1929, in Madison, Ind. to Orba Richard Sr. and Goldie (Coker) Jenkins.

Mr. Jenkins worked for Steigers Hardware, Kubics Hardware, Garr Hardware and had retired from Sanlo Manufacturing after 17 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Michigan City and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict.

On Aug. 22, 1959, he married Clarice Jean Tompach, who died July 21, 2002.

Also preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters, Opal Jones and Thelma Royce.

Surviving are two daughters, Marcia (Shawn) Gillem of Cromwell, Ind., and Lori (Clifford) Brown of Rolling Prairie; one son, Kevin (Tammy) Jenkins of Daleville, Ind.; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two sisters, Elender Chambers of Madison and Dorothy Allen of Elkhart; one brother, Raymond Jenkins of Fort Wayne; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Cutler Funeral Home with Rev. David Matevia officiating. Friends may call today from 3 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memorial Gardens with full military rites.
