Myrl Jacobs
Mr. Myrl E. Jacobs, 87, of 611 Kingsport Ave., LaPorte, died Friday, July 11, 2003, at 12:17 a.m. at Fountainview Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born July 23, 1915, in Jones, Michigan to Henry & Mary (Barger) Jacobs. On December 22, 1936, in Goshen, IN, he married Doris L. Hasbrouck, who survives.
Also surviving are a daugter, Pat Jones, LaPorte; two sons, Jerry (Phyllis) Jacobs, Gatesville, TX and Larry (Lou Ann) Jacobs, LaPorte; 7 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Dorothy Beattie, Sturgis, MI and Elinor Yoder, Mishawaka, IN.
Preceding him in death were 2 grandsons, Dale & Jack Jones, Jr. and a son-in-law, Jack Jones, Sr.
He had retired from the Bendix Corporation as an inspector after 29 years. He was a graduate of Schoolcraft High Scool in Schoolcraft, MI and was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He enjoyed traveling with his wife.
A private family service will be held at a later date at Sauktown Cemetery where full military rites will be held. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Cutler Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sauktown Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
