Myrna Gay Hart

Myrna Gay Hart, 78, of South Bend and formerly of La Porte, IN, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Sanctuary at Holy Cross in South Bend.

Myrna was born on September 3, 1947, in Michigan City, IN, to Elgia W. and Helen E. (Kegebein) Sales.

On April 28, 1967, in Portage, IN, she married Donald W. Hart who preceded her in death on January 27, 2014. Surviving Myrna are her 2 children, Donny (Lynda) Hart of Indianapolis and Lorie (Scott) Dittmar of Niles, MI; 2 grandchildren, Alicia Hart of Bloomington and Charles Mead of Lafayette; step-granddaughter, Tasha Mokwa of Kalamazoo, MI; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, loving family members, and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Donald, Dennis, Jimmy, and Cliff Sales.

Myrna was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom for many years, before working in food service. She was devoted to her family and loved the time spent with them.

She was a member of the F.O.E. #2439. Myrna enjoyed reading, working on her computer, and sewing.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Entombment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso, IN.

A time of visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday, at the funeral home.
