Peggy Ann Watson

Peggy Ann Watson, 69, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2026, at Franciscan Health-Michigan City.

Peggy was born on October 6, 1956, in Lafayette, IN, to Francis Watkins and Patricia (Smith) Best.

On June 25, 1993, she married Clay Watson who preceded her in death. Surviving Peggy are her 2 sons, Heath Watkins of La Porte and John (Stephanie) Schmidt of Niles, MI; granddaughter, Erica Watkins; sister, Wanda Wolfe of Lafayette; brother, Jeffrey Watkins of La Porte; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and 2 brothers, Thomas and Charles Watkins.

Peggy worked for 40 years as a Registered Nurse. Her compassionate care towards her clients was an extension of the love she had for her family, who was of utmost importance to her. Peggy will be fondly remembered for the priority she placed on relationships.

She was a member of the American Legion Post 400.

A Celebration of Life Service with the NWI Nurse Honor Guard will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center. Burial will follow at Patton Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
