Ralph D. Copner, Sr.

Ralph Copner, Sr., 78, passed away on April 29, 2026, in Oro Valley, Arizona. Born on May 19, 1947, in Danville, Illinois to Lillie Copner and Earl Copner, Ralph lived a life guided by faith, service, and love.

A proud veteran of the Vietnam War, Ralph served his country with honor and dedication. His sense of duty and commitment to service extended beyond his military career and was evident in all aspects of his life. He was an active member of Faith Fellowship Church of God in La Porte, Indiana, where he found spiritual fulfillment and a strong sense of community.

Ralph's deep and abiding love for Jesus was the cornerstone of his life. This faith shaped his actions and relationships, leaving a profound impact on those who knew him. Among his greatest joys were his grandchildren, whom he cherished deeply. His warmth and affection left an indelible mark on their lives and on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ralph was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Copner; father, Earl Copner; siblings, Luis Copner, Sharon Copner, Art Thatcher, Arnett Thatcher, Clifford Thatcher and Willard Thatcher.

He is survived by his son, Ralph Copner, Jr.; siblings, Richard Copner and Marion Thatcher; grandchildren, Logan (Rylee) Schuman-Copner, Courtney Schuman-Copner, and Cassidy (Zen) Poynter; and great-grandchildren, Braxton, Brooklyn, Baylor, Kallie, Rilynn, Sawyer, and RaeLynn.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Gathering will be held from 1 - 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 20, 2026, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
