Robert "Bob" Lee Lower, 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away on April 17, 2024 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Also surviving are his 3 children, Michael Lower of La Porte, Sherry (Tom) Curtis of Union Mills, and Francine (Doug) Bottorf of Mansfield, OH; many cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Sherry (William) Anderson; beloved dog, Sophie; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Lower; and grandson, Zachary Byers.

Bob worked many years as a truck driver, which he dearly loved. To him, truck driving was so much more than a job. He was truly passionate about it. Bob held his CDL until 81 years of age. He took great pride and integrity in his work, which was meticulous. Bob instilled in his family the importance of pride, integrity, and honesty in all work completed.

He was a devoted family man, who loved and cherished his wife. Bob would often say that Vira was #1 and the love of his life. He would always put her needs before his own.

In addition to his commitment to Vira, Bob unconditionally loved his children, even through their "not so good" decisions. Michael, Sherry, and Fran knew that they could count on him for great advice and honesty. Bob was always willing to talk to his children about anything, at any time.

Bob's generosity didn't end with his family. He would freely give of his time and talents to help others, without asking anything in return.

Bob will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor, which he displayed until the very end of his life. His children will remember him as the strongest man and "not a quitter".
