Russell William Steigely, 64, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at Northwest Health-Porter.
Russell was born on October 24, 1960, in La Porte, IN, to Robert and Faye (Grassmyer) Steigely.
Russell is survived by his daughters, Sara (Dustin) Kling of La Porte, Rachel (Mitch Anthony) Steigely of Essexville, MI , and Emily (Dylan) Conner of Lenoir, NC; 2 grandsons, Jeff and Carson Kling; 3 sisters, Vicki Travis of La Porte, Laurie Parsons of La Porte, and Joyce (Arthur) Christenson of La Porte; brother, Guy Steigely of Chicago, IL; brother-in-law, David Kampf of La Porte; former spouses, Carrie Rehlander Lambert of La Porte and Kim Brandmair of Bay City, MI; aunt, Pam Lang of La Porte; uncle, Dale Grassmyer of Tulsa, OK; and nieces and nephews, Brandi (AJ) Glanders, Dylan Travis, Allison (Kelly) Burke, Cristina (Mike) Martin, Darcie (Adam) Simpkins, Samantha (Danny) Christensen, Tiffany Parsons, Michael Parsons, and Robert Rivera.
He was preceded in death by his parents; children, Meghan and Adam Steigely; sister, Julie Kampf; brother, Mark Steigely; and brothers-in-law, Gary Travis and Jeff Parsons.
Russell worked in guest services as an usher at the University of Notre Dame. He also spent many years working in the food industry.
Russell was a big Chicago sports fan. He enjoyed sharing his passion for sports by attending them with his family. Russell had a great sense of humor and often greeted others with the well-known greeting from Friends, "How you doing?!?". He will be fondly remembered for being a caring father, grandfather, brother, and friend, often showing his love through the giving of gifts. Russell treasured family traditions and took great joy in passing down the traditions of his parents.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Steve Galloway officiating.
A time of visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
