Sheila A. (Freyer) Halderman

Sheila A. Halderman, 68, of La Porte, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Northwest Health - La Porte.

Sheila was born on October 29, 1952 in Michigan City, IN, to Herbert and Evelyn (Smith) Freyer.

On April 24, 1982 in Fort Hood, TX, she married Duane F. Halderman, who preceded her in death.  Surviving are her children, Becky Spencer of Kingsbury, Tracy (Jason) Nicholson of Portage, and Lance Halderman of Michigan City; 11 grandchildren, Rodney (Nikki) Pineda of Kingsbury, Bruce (Kelsey) Hutchinson of La Porte, Seabrina Spencer of La Porte, Jacob Spencer of La Porte, Kristi (Cody Jones) Ladra of Michigan City, Nicholas Leslie of Portage, Austin Halderman of La Porte, Landon Halderman of La Porte, Lucas Halderman of La Porte, Lorraine Halderman of La Porte, and Enna Halderman of Michigan City; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Nina Rumbaugh of Henderson, NV, Dorothy (Calvin) Yarbraugh of Reno, NV, Nora Littler of Las Vegas, NV, Edward (Kendra) Smith of Michigan City, Robin (Floyd) Thomas of Michigan City, Diane (Jack) Thomas of Michigan City, and Sherry Staniszewski of La Porte; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her husband, Duane; parents; grandson, Xavior Halderman; 5 brothers; and 1 sister.

Sheila was in management for many years at Hartland Products.  She enjoyed playing cards and dice.  Sheila was especially fond of the time spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with Pastor Charlie Arms officiating.  Burial will follow at Pine Lake Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
