Sue Ann Werner

Sue Ann Werner, 81, of Union Mills, IN, passed away on Monday, November 2, 2026, at Northwest Health-Porter.

Sue was born on February 15, 1945, to Don H. and Elizabeth Ann (Bowser) Stroh.

On June 17, 1967, in Union Mills, IN, she married Elliott Werner who survives. Also surviving are her 2 children, Duane (Mary Ellen) Werner of Hamlet and Deanna (Rick) Budka of Union Mills; grandchildren, Derek Budka of Wanatah, Kyleigh (Travis) Conley of Hebron, Blake (Kendal) Werner of Kouts, and Kayla Budka of Valparaiso; great-grandchildren, Beckham, Ella, and Keller; brother, Richard (Bernie) Stroh of Union Mills; beloved dog, Maycee; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

From 1963 to 1994, Sue worked in the medical field, doing clerical work. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, where she was involved in the Bethel Ladies Circle. Sue also enjoyed serving in the Union Mills Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.

She loved traveling with her beloved husband, Elliott, dear friends, and new friends made through a travel group. Sue enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers.

A woman dedicated to her family, Sue joyfully and sacrificially cared for her grandchildren any chance she could during her retirement. Her grandchildren fondly remember the special treats she made for them, including the famous family yeast rolls. Sue had a heart for helping others and freely gave of herself.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at Bethel Presbyterian Church with Pastor Bill Rogers officiating. Burial will follow at Union Mills Cemetery.

A time of visitation will be held from 4 - 7 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2026, and from 10 a.m. until the service on Tuesday, November 10, 2026, at the church.
