Suzette Marie Yackus

Suzette Marie Yackus, 76, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Northwest Health-La Porte.

Suzette was born on November 13, 1949, in South Bend, IN, to George and Mary (Cooreman) Landuyt.

On April 11, 1970, in New Carlisle, she married Daniel Yackus, who survives. Also surviving are her 4 children, Angela (Doug) Yackus-Lenig of Rolling Prairie, Jennifer (Jonathan) Ratheram of New York, NY, Dennis Yackus of La Porte, and Amanda (Othel) Terry of La Porte; 6 grandchildren, Kodey (Ashley) Coffinger of South Bend, Kameron (Ashley) Coffinger of North Vernon, Daniel (Kimber) Lenig of Rolling Prairie, Bailey (Ben Swihart) Lenig of Indianapolis, Leilani Terry of La Porte, and Liam Terry of La Porte; 2 great-grandsons, Rhett Biehle of North Vernon, and Garrett Coffinger of South Bend; expected great-granddaughter Vivian Lenig; as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Rebecca Roegiers; and brother, Dennis Landuyt.

Suzette was a homemaker and substitute teacher for many years. She enjoyed gardening, reading, crocheting and crafting. Suzette also appreciated the great outdoors, camping and traveling.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
