Thomas "Tom" David Todd, 82, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Franciscan Health-Michigan City.
Tom was born on June 30, 1944, in Chicago, IL, to Lester and E. Josephine (Powers) Todd.
On October 14, 2000, in La Porte, IN, he married Darlene Fitzpatrick who survives. Also surviving are his 3 daughters, Tara (Christopher) Cummings of Michigan City, Terri (John) Foster of La Porte, and Tina (Rich) Kirby of Rolling Prairie; stepson, Ryan Blind of La Porte; 10 grandchildren, Joe and Janelle Cummings, Audrey and Zane Foster, Colton, Livia, and Tiegan King; Amos Kirby; and Dominik and Keraghan Blind; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Janette Burns of Evergreen Park, IL and Mary (Patrick) Fellows of Henderson, NV; brother-in-law, Jim Fitzpatrick; sister-in-law, Tracy Fitzpatrick; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant granddaughter; sister, Joette (Cubby) Boney; brother, Lester Todd; and brothers-in-law, Jack Burns and Barry Fitzpatrick.
Tom proudly served in the United States Marines.
He worked 14 yrs. at Allis Chalmers as a lead inspector and later retired, after 24 years, from Roll Coater as a serviceman. Tom was a member of the American Legion of La Porte, The Elks of Michigan City, PNA, PRCU, and The Falcons, as well as a lifetime member of the DAV and Marine Corp. League.
Tom was friendly and didn't know a stranger. Throughout his life, Tom enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and playing golf. He always said "It never rains on the golf course!"
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.
A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
