Thompson Faye Schroeder

Mr. Thompson F. Schroeder, of LaPorte, formerly of Union Mills, passed from this life to eternal rest on October 6, 2022.

Thompson was born on July 9, 1934 in Calumet City, IL, to Walter and Faye Schroeder.  He was married to Mildred (Gray) Schroeder for 69 years and has 5 children, Thomas/Christine (Fabian) Schroeder who proceeded him in death, Terry (Jan) Schroeder of Andover, MN, Trent (Sandy) Schroeder of Union Mills, IN, Tracy Schroeder of LaPorte, IN and Trinette Schroeder of Union Mills, IN.  Thompson was a grandfather to 14 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 14 great-grandchildren.

He was a printer/pressman for Sheffield Press in Hammond, IN for over 40 years.  In his retirement he loved restoring cars, the outdoors, fishing and traveling with Mildred in their motor home.  Thompson had a quick wit and an easy smile.  His love for his family was undeniable and he will be deeply missed.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Union Mills on Friday, October 14th from 2-6 p.m.  Friends are welcome to stop and share memories.
