Timothy Val Zebell, age 66, of Three Oaks, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, surrounded by his family following a courageous battle with cancer.
Tim was born on January 16, 1959, in Michigan City, Indiana, the son of Chester and Joan (Blair) Zebell. A dedicated public servant, Tim worked for the City of New Buffalo Water Department for over 20 years. He and his wife attended Real Life Community Church in Three Oaks. In his younger years, Tim was well known for throwing legendary parties.
Tim was truly happiest at home—the same home where he grew up and eventually raised his own family. A man who found peace in the outdoors, he could often be found working in the yard or riding his tractor with a wagon in tow. Above all, Tim was a devoted provider who cherished his roles as a husband, father, and grandfather.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 35 years, Teresa Zebell; their children, Michael Baney, Erin Davis, Justin (Kie) Baney, Jeffrey (Kelly) Baney, Kerry Zebell, Katherine Zebell, and Chelsea Zebell; 19 beloved grandchildren; and eight siblings, Joe Zebell, Mike (Sue) Zebell, Brian (Patti) Zebell, Julie (Keith) Samsel, Robert Zebell, Mary (Devon) Sorenson, Ted (Danielle) Zebell, and Chris Zebell. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Derrick Baney.
In keeping with Tim’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Real Life Community Church, 12 E. Michigan St., Three Oaks, MI 49128. There will be a time for visitation one hour prior to the service.
Tim’s family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and caregivers for their exceptional care. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Elara Caring Hospice, 312 E. Main St., Suite 1, Niles, MI 49120.
