Wallace "Wally" Lee Gayheart, 80, passed away on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at Franciscan Health-Michigan City.
Wallace was born on November 1, 1943, in Handshoe, Kentucky to Lois and Dixie (Bailey) Gayheart.
On August 12, 1967, in Michigan City, Indiana, he married Beverly White who survives. Also surviving are his children, Shannon (Jennifer) Gayheart and Kristen (Larry) Joseph, both of La Porte.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Wally proudly served in the US Air Force. He worked as a retailer manager until he retired. Wally was a member of Phi Delta Kappa, COHO Club and the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A private family graveside service will take place.
