William Joseph Lambert

William Joseph Lambert, 71, of La Porte, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, surrounded by his loving family.

William was born in La Porte, IN, on December 26, 1947 to Robert B. and Dolores J. (Reasoner) Lambert.

On August 20, 1988 in La Porte, IN, he married Jennie Weathers who survives.  Also surviving are his daughters, Tara J. (Jeff) Lambert of La Porte, Melody R. (Oz) Lambert-Avery of South Bend, and Jennie L. (Jimi) Lambert of South Bend; sister, Jeri Sue (Wendy) Lambert of Elkhart; 5 grandsons; 4 great-grandsons; as well as many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert B. Lambert, Jr.; and father-in-law, Gerald Weathers.

William was a foundryman for many years at Aero Metals and Federal Mogul.  He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.  William was an active fisherman and a skilled glass blower.

William proudly served in the United States Navy, with a rank of AK2.  He earned the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze star, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal.

Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. (CT) on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center with family friend James Sullivan officiating.

A time of visitation will be held from 11 a.m. (CT) until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.  Interment will take place at a later date.
